Asphalting works put on hold as plant breaks down

Africa-Press – Seychelles. All asphalting work projects will be affected and have been put on hold due to a breakdown of the asphalt plant on Mahe, the Seychelles Land Transport Agency has informed members of the public.

As a result of the breakdown of the asphalt plant, the Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA) is unable to produce the hot mix asphalt necessary for the projects.

These projects include the road improvement along Roche Caïman road, Grand Anse resurfacing, road widening at Mt Plaisir, Plaisance roundabout and several other projects in various districts.

The asphalt plant is expected to be up and running in around three to four weeks subject to any further delays. In the meantime the SLTA will continue to undertake minor emergency repair works where needed using a temporary cold mix.

The SLTA apologises for any inconvenience that these delays may cause and is counting on the kind understanding and cooperation of members of the public.
