Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has re-opened access to the Private Sector (MSMEs) Relief Scheme and Private Sector (Large Enterprise) Relief Scheme as of February 1, 2022.
The access period for the two schemes, which ended on December 31, 2021, has now been extended to March 31, 2022, during which period eligible businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic can lodge their applications.
This is one of several policy decisions in CBS’ Unwinding Strategy – Covid-19 Policy and Relief Measures approved by the CBS board in its meeting held on Monday January 31, 2022, in light of analysis conducted on the impact of policies adopted in 2020 in response to the pandemic. A copy of the abridged version of the Unwinding Strategy can be accessed on the following link: https://www.cbs.sc/COVID-19/PolicyMeasures.html and media engagement on the policy changes will be held in the coming weeks.
CBS will continue to monitor the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and will adjust its policy measures accordingly to the evolving economic circumstances to maintain price and overall financial stability.
