Africa-Press – Seychelles. On the day centenarian Angele Labiche took her last breath on Saturday January 29, 2022, another centenarian, Fulgencia Malcouzane, née Maria, was laid to rest at the Mont Fleuri cemetery.
Affectionately known as Ita, Mrs Malcouzane of Bel Air passed away on January 26, 2022 at the age of 103.
Born on October 6, 1918, Mrs Malcouzanne had seven children ‒ four sons and three daughters. Unfortunately, all four sons and one daughter passed away before she did.
She is survived by two daughters ‒ May and Vania.
“My mum died peacefully at home,” said May Malcouzane, who is the nurse manager at the English River Health Centre.
She added: “Ita (my mum) lived a happy life and got all the care she needed. But I believe her only regret is not living to celebrate her 104th birthday just like her aunty known as ‘Tatay’.”
