Africa-Press – Seychelles. Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been sentenced to four years in a federal prison.
The verdict was handed down by Judge Arun Subramanian on Friday.
Subramanian said the sentence was fair, taking into account both the severity of Diddy’s crimes and the mitigating factors.
Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
His legal team had asked the judge for a 14-month sentence, while prosecutors sought 11 years behind bars.
The sentencing hearing lasted several hours, during which prosecutors criticised Diddy for scheduling what they described as a speaking engagement this coming Monday in Miami.
His defence then played a video of Diddy and his children in court.
Towards the end of the hearing, Diddy stood to address the court and apologised to his ex, Cassie Ventura.
