Africa-Press – Seychelles. Her Highness Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, has visited the Seychelles Pavilion at Dubai Expo2020.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family Marie-Celine Zialor welcomed and guided Her Highness on a tour of the Seychelles Pavilion at the EXPO.
HH Sheikha Mahra toured several pavilions at the Sustainability District at Expo2020 on Wednesday including the Seychelles Pavilion.
Her Excellency expressed her interest in the areas of marine conservation and Seychelles’ sustainable products referring to the local skin and hair care products – Belliche and Seaweed
Seychelles – which were on display at the Pavilion.
Minister Zialor took the opportunity to push the women’s agenda as a potential area for cooperation since HH Sheikha Mahra has made significant contributions towards women empowerment in the United Arabs Emirates.
The Seychelles’ Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family is hopeful for opportunities for collaborations following this first encounter with Her Highness.
Also present at the courtesy visit were the Ambassador of the Republic of Seychelles to the UAE Jean-Claude Adrienne, Family department’s principal secretary Clive Roucou, the deputy general commissioner of the Seychelles Pavilion, Galen Bresson, and his support staff.
Seychelles Pavilion is displaying the natural beauty and history of the nation’s islands, the steps being taken to safeguard them, and the opportunities to take part in their preservation.
As of March 23, 2022, a total of 469,794 visitors were recorded.
The Dubai Expo2020 will officially end in [five] days. The six-month-long showcase, pushed back a year by the pandemic, is the first world’s fair to be held in the Middle East.
