Africa-Press – Seychelles. A three-day National Tabletop Exercise and workshop aimed at enhancing maritime security governance in Seychelles by strengthening the functioning of the National Maritime Security Committee (NMSC) is underway since yesterday.
The session has been organised by the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the Seychelles Coast Guard, the Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA) along with the National Information Sharing Co-ordination Centre (NISCC).
Speaking to the press after the opening ceremony at the Seychelles Coast Guard base, Ile Du Port, Perseverance, the chief executive of SMSA, Captain Daniel Adam, explained that the country is still in the early stages of developing its maritime governance framework.
