Expo Dubai   Seychelles to showcase Sports Tourism as an investment activity

Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry Devika Vidot is at the Dubai Expo to attend a number of activities planned as part of efforts to attract investment into the country.

Minister Vidot, who left Seychelles on Tuesday, is being accompanied by a small delegation from the ministry that include the chief executive of the Seychelles Investment Board (SIB), Anne Rosette, and other high-level officials from the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports, department of Tourism and department of the Blue Economy.

While at the Expo, Minister Vidot will take part in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) event which will be focusing on women entrepreneurship and how they are thriving during the Covid-19 pandemic. GEM carries out survey-based research on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship ecosystems

around the world. It is a networked consortium of national country teams primarily associated with top academic institutions and is the only global research source that collects data on entrepreneurship directly from individual entrepreneurs.

The main and key event will be the Investment Forum to be held tomorrow, Friday February 11. This will focus specifically on the opportunities of Sports Tourism in Seychelles. Minister Vidot, the CEO of SIB and other colleagues from the departments of Tourism and Sports will showcase various investment opportunities in Seychelles around Sports Tourism and potential activities that can take place around the islands that have potential to yield a high level of investment. Discussions will revolve around the investment landscape, the ease of setting up a business in Seychelles and the steps required to invest in Seychelles.

As part of her visit, Minister Vidot will also engage in several bilateral talks with counterparts from various investment, entrepreneurship and industry related fields.
