Africa-Press – Seychelles. The total government and government guaranteed debt at the end of the second quarter (Q2) amounted to R17.2bn, which represents a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous quarter.

The reduction in both external debt and the Central Government domestic debt as at June 2022 has resulted in the debt to GDP ratio declining to 61.9%.

These figures are revealed in the debt bulletin for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022, published by the Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade.

The compilation and publication of the quarterly reports is as per the Extended Fund Facility Arrangement, signed between the government of Seychelles and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in July, 2021.

The quarterly report is compiled by the Debt Management Office, within the ministry.
