Africa-Press – Seychelles. Grand Anse Praslin’s senior citizens club is thrilled to be back in action after a period of inactivity due to the challenging times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The club elected its new executive committee on Friday August 4, 2023, in a ceremony hosted and witnessed by district administrator Chantal Laure and officials from the Ministry of Local Government & Community Affairs.

The new chairperson, Nadege Medor, was elected with an overwhelming majority of the votes.

In her inspiring remarks as the new chair, she expressed her vision for a united effort to create positive changes within the community.

Mrs Medor emphasised the significance of active participation from all members in various activities to promote a stronger and more caring environment for the elderly in Grand Anse Praslin.

Assisting Mrs Medor in leading the committee are: vice-chairperson Johnny Accouche, secretary Chantale Pouponeau, and treasurer Marie-André Dugasse.

The committee is also joined by six ordinary members, whose dedication and collective contributions will play an essential role in the successful execution of the club’s initiatives.

The Grand Anse senior citizens club warmly welcomes anyone aged 55 and above residing in the district. As a gathering space for seniors from diverse backgrounds, the club endeavours to create a vibrant and inclusive community where members can come together, share experiences, and receive support.
