Habitat Week Ministry reaches out to secondary students

Africa-Press – Seychelles. As part of activities to commemorate Habitat Week, the Ministry of Lands and Housing (MLH) reached out to secondary school students from the central part of Mahé.

The students spent a few hours at the ministry’s Independence House offices earlier this week to learn more about career prospects within the sector.

The outreach programme is an opportunity for students to make an informed and educated decision about their career path within these particular fields and interact with professionals working in the Lands and Housing departments.

This activity fits well with the theme for World Habitat Day this year, which is ‘Mind the Gap – Leave no one and place behind’. What better way to start educating our youth about their responsibility and importance of saving for a future home at an early age?

Continuing with the spirit of leaving no one and place behind, Praslin hosted an exhibition on the newly launched ‘mid-range condominium’ product. This activity was held on Thursday at the Pension Fund Complex.

Residents of Praslin and La Digue are highly encouraged to learn more about this new product and even start the application process which is expected to wrap up by the end of October.

The accompanying photos show the students during their visit to the ministry’s offices.
