Africa-Press – Seychelles. New Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso has suggested the role Jude Bellingham will play in his squad.
Recall that under former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, Bellingham initially played as an advanced midfielder, making late runs into the box and playing as a shadow striker.
But after the arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, Bellingham’s role was shifted to a deeper, slightly wider position as he operated in the left half-space.
The role allows the England international to dictate play more and contribute to Madrid’s overall balance.
However, speaking at his press conference on Monday after his unveiling, Alonso suggested the position Bellingham will play under him at Madrid.
According to him, the former Borussia Dortmund star is generational and can play in any position in the pitch.
“What Bellingham’s role will be? I see him in midfield,” Alonso said.
“He’s generational, he can play anywhere. He will be fundamental for us.”
