Africa-Press – Seychelles. The high commission of India organised the biggest yoga event of the year at the Palais des Sports, Roche Caiman Sports Complex, on Saturday June 18, 2022.
The event, that was led by yoga teachers Steve Thelermont, Josette Ruiz and Meena Tank, was attended by more than 350 yoga enthusiasts.
Friends and families got together for an hour of refreshing yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises) session.
The event was organised as part of the International Day of Yoga 2022 and was sponsored by the Indian Association of Seychelles.
The Indian high commission organises a mass yoga session every year to commemorate United Nations International Day of Yoga which falls on June 21. It is one of the most-awaited events of the year. The event could not be held in the last two years to maintain social distancing requirement necessitated in light of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Indian high commission is glad to bring back the event after two years and hopes to continue to organise it every year for the people of Seychelles.
Meanwhile a small group of yoga enthusiasts marked the International Day of Yoga by following a yoga session in the Peace Park early yesterday morning.
The session was in collaboration with the Indian Association of Seychelles and the Yoga Association of Seychelles.
