Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Linyon Demokratik Seselwa has wished Team Seychelles the best of luck as they head to Antananarivo, Madagascar for the 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games.

In a press release issued yesterday, Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) stated “for those with previous experience of competing at the biggest regional games, guide those who for the first time are entering such a competition. LDS joins your families, friends, and fans to celebrate what you have achieved and your selection to represent Seychelles at such a prestigious competition.”

“We are incredibly proud of you. We are counting a lot on you to be a torch bearer for Seychelles,” the statement added.

“Whilst we will cheer your drive to compete and win, we will also follow your examples in inspiring confidence, building friendship and community cohesion, and most importantly spread the message of positivity amongst our youth,” it read.

LDS added that it recognises the athletes’ journey to reach Madagascar and the personal sacrifices they have all made to be selected as part of Team Seychelles.

“As the party in government, we will continue to work hard to support the right policy decisions to champion your desires as sporting athletes to break down barriers, change attitude and unite our nation through your disciplines.”

It also thanked the government and the people of Seychelles for their unwavering support for the athletes, coaching and management staff.

“Go out there and enjoy every moment of the IOIG. We will be following your progress here back home as you compete and be inspired by your desire to raise the Seychelles flag and bring home the medals,” concluded the message.
