Africa-Press – Seychelles. LWMA reopens waste disposal access for commercial contractors, with restrictions
The Landscape and Waste Management Agency has announced that following safety and security assessments conducted on Tuesday September 9, 2025 in coordination with relevant authorities, access for commercial contractors to dispose of certain types of commercial waste was reinstated from 1pm to 4pm yesterday.
The Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA) has specified the categories of waste being limited and the ones that will not be accepted at all, at this present time.
• Limited amount of Putrescent waste (2 trucks per entity, per day)
• Bulky waste and green waste (in any form)
These restrictions remain in place as a precautionary measure in line with current operational and safety protocols, said LWMA. The agency added that it continues to work in close collaboration with all relevant agencies to ensure public safety and the effective management of waste services. Further updates regarding service changes or access restrictions will be communicated promptly.
