National Parade postponed to Sunday July 3

Africa-Press – Seychelles. The National Day Parade which was to take place yesterday has been postponed to Sunday July 3 on account of unfavourable weather conditions.

This was announced by the chairperson of the National Day committee, Minister Jean-François Ferrari, on Tuesday afternoon.

The starting time of the event will however remain 5pm.

Minister Ferrari also shared that it was unfortunate that a platoon of French soldiers who were to take part in the parade will no longer be able to participate as they will have already left the country.

“But we are trying to see if our special guest from the UAE will be able to remain in the country until Sunday,” shared Minister Ferrari.

Nonetheless, activities that have been planned in the districts for the occasion still went ahead and these celebrations will continue until the end of the week.
