Africa-Press – Seychelles. RCSS provides its support
The Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) provided its support to the Nomination Day 2025 which took place yesterday.
As part of its commitment to safeguarding public health and safety, as an auxiliary to the authorities, the RCSS deployed a dedicated team comprising of one ambulance driver and two trained first-aiders. The Electoral Commission of Seychelles formally requested the RCSS to provide these services, recognising the organisation’s critical role in safeguarding public health and safety during national events.
Positioned at the scene, the RCSS volunteers were fully prepared to provide immediate assistance to anyone in need, ensuring the well-being of all participants during this important national event.
This standby operation reflects the RCSS’s enduring mission to serve humanity with neutrality, impartiality, and professionalism.
The RCSS will also be providing support during the main election day on September 27, 2025, with over 80 volunteers to be deployed across 26 polling stations on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
This includes ambulance standby services to guarantee a quick and timely response to any medical emergencies.
Guided by the Red Cross Fundamental Principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence, the RCSS continues to serve as a trusted humanitarian partner, ensuring that every citizen can participate in the electoral process with an added layer of safety and care.
The RCSS extends its gratitude to the volunteers who are representing the national society during this year’s election.
As Seychelles moves through the election period, the RCSS calls on everyone to help make this process a safe, peaceful, and respectful experience for all.
“By working together, respecting one another, and upholding the principles of humanity, we can ensure that this important moment in our nation’s history is marked by unity and care for each other’s well-being,” said the RCSS.
