Organized at the Roche Caïman sports complex, in collaboration with the French Ambassador to Seychelles, the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Council (NSC), participants ran around the fitness course. Younger participants took laps around Champion’s Park Raceway.
The event is part of the “Terre De Jeux 2024” relay around the world organized by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in partnership with Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It was organized for the first time in 2022.
The relay will last 24 hours across the world and during the day, the virtual relay will pass between different countries, which will then pass it on to others. It will cross five continents and bring together more than 146 embassies and consulates.

The event saw the participation of several students from various schools, including the French School of Seychelles.
Adley Lauricourt, one of their students, who is also an already popular name in local athletics, said: “It was a cool event, with a lot of other students participating, so I think it “It’s great that it promotes the sport.”
Mr. Lauricourt has represented Seychelles, an archipelago in the western Indian Ocean, at international level and his dream is to one day compete in the Olympic Games.
The relay around the world aims to share the energy of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games with all territories, municipalities, departments, regions, metropolises or overseas diplomatic and consular posts around the world.
The 2024 Summer Olympics , known as Paris 2024, is an upcoming international multi-sport event taking place from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in France.
