Africa-Press – Seychelles. ‘Mon Trezor’Mrs. Eugenia Albert, who was a teacher for 42 years, launched her first book with the title “Mon Trezor” in a small ceremony yesterday afternoon at Espace Café.Among the family and friends who were present for this historic event, there was also the Minister of Design Jean-François Ferrari and the Honorable Kelly Saminadin, who is also a member of the poetry group ‘Bling Bling’.
In front of the guests, Mrs. Albert shared her story in Seychellois literature, signed the books that are now available for the public to read and read about her journey and challenges in life.
In his address, he mentioned that it is a great honor to launch his book in front of his guests who have a great interest in poetry as well as his family.
“Poetry is something that I have always appreciated, but my future in the art form came late,” said Albert’s wife.
This poet who occasionally contributes content to the ‘Bling Bling poetry’ page on social networks, also frequents their activities and this is where his passion for this art form has accelerated.
“Also life situations have forced me to connect with my pen. I’m exploring several literary platforms in the world and here’s something that I never expected to be able to do and it’s the publication of my first book ‘Mon Trezor’,» he mentioned.
He pointed out that ‘Mon Trezor’ is a book written in our three national languages - English, French and Creole. This book traces his childhood and his life in the form of poetry.
“‘Mon Trezor’ is divided into three parts; The first one tells the story of my mother – an orphan at a very young age – who worked hard and became a role model for her children. The second part illustrates my life path up to now that shows my successes, my weaknesses and the challenges that life has put in my life. Finally, the last part paints the portrait of my children who have been transferred to that other world that most of us avoid talking about there and one day we will all be reunited there in that unknown place,» Mrs. Albert explained.Albert’s wife says that her book will become her legacy for her children and future children who will get to know her through her writing.
“This reminds me of the proverb that says ‘Les paroles s’volent, les écritures restent’. My family, my children and young children will always remain my pillar on which I stand,” he added.
During this ceremony, he also took the opportunity to thank all the people present, including those who have donated and financed his project.
In the ceremony Mrs. Eugenia Albert offered a copy of her book to the President of the Republic Wavel Ramkalawan and this was accepted by the Minister of Design Jean-François Ferrari, who also received a copy.
His three children – Alicia Mohamed Ali, Nelissa Victor and Nadisha Malbrook – received a copy of it from the family.
There are also copies for Honorable Au Cap district, Kelly Samynadin, Joëlle Perreau, Stephanie Joubert and Maryse Prosper who work at the library of the Teacher Education Institute (Site).
The launch of ‘Mon Trezor’ was also hosted by well-known poets and a song by Daniel Prosper.
This book is available in two versions on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue; A copy costs 400 rupees (hard cover) and 300 rupees (booklet).
