President of Guyana signs Ismachiah's climate balls

Africa-Press – Seychelles. Two months after Seychelles’ President Wavel Ramkalawan signed 13-year-old Los Angeles boy’s climate balls that began their journey during the Qatar World Cup in 2022, he is now in Guyana, South America.

The President of the South American country, Irfaan Ali has now signed his climate ball, as the leader of the most sustainable country in South America.

Ismachiah met the president and shared with him the reasons why he chose Guyana’s leader for the ball signing. They included Guyana’s carbon credit initiative that keeps forestation, the social programmes that educate citizens largely on climate initiatives, and their new electricity projects that take them away from fossil fuel for electricity production.

After the ball signing, the president was very impressed with Ismachiah and his project that he paid for him to travel to the Amazon region to see what Guyana was doing. On the trip, Ismachiah took his two climate balls to the mouth of the largest single drop water fall in the world, the Kaieteur Falls.

Apart from players and fans from more than 28 countries during the Fifa World Cup in Qatar, others who have signed the balls in the last six months include chief executives of global companies such as FedEx, Hawaii Airlines, Marriott Hotels, JA Resorts Dubai, Princess Cruises, a player representing Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in London and of course, the President of Seychelles, and now the President of Guyana.

President Ramkalawan was the first world leader to sign the ball.
