Africa-Press – Seychelles. Seychelles and China sign new fisheries agreement

Seychelles and China yesterday signed an agreement that will allow for the regularisation of fishing activities undertaken by 15 Chinese longline fishing vessels in Seychelles Exclusive Economic Zone.

The signing ceremony took place at the Foreign Affairs department, Maison Quéau de Quinssy located at Mont Fleuri. It was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, who signed the agreement on behalf of Principal Minister Jean-François Ferrari, who is also the Minister for Fisheries and Blue Economy, and the First Deputy President of the Chinese Overseas Fisheries Association (COFA) Zhao Gang.
