Africa-Press – Seychelles. The National Assembly yesterday afternoon resolved to approve a supplementary estimate of
R167,426,692.60 for the year 2021 laid before the Assembly in accordance with Article 154(6)(b) of the Constitution.
Hon. Bernard Georges, the leader of government business, presented the motion to that effect.
He explained during his presentation that the sum is money in excess to the budget allocations in the form of grants already spent by government for some of its different projects and programmes in 2021 and highlighted by the auditor general through an audit of government accounts which has just been completed.
Hon. Georges went on to give a breakdown of the mentioned sum.
Only the LDS MNAs voted to approve the supplementary estimates while the opposition members abstained.
The National Assembly will resume its sitting today at 11am.
