Africa-Press – Seychelles. The moment long awaited by children as well as adults had finally arrived!
Yesterday at 18h50 precisely, the Secretary General of the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and Arts, David André, accompanied by two children – Aliandra and Kyle – turned on all the lights on the road leading to the State House .
Many Seychellois, adults and children have moved to witness this moment that heralds the beginning of the festivities. Even the ministers and members of the National Assembly participated in this event.
SG David André thanked all those who helped make the city bright and asked people to leave the lights as they are.
After the illumination of the lights, the ‘National Brass Band’ played ‘Fanfare’ followed by choirs who sang Christmas songs – Seychelles National Choir with 10 songs, SNYC choir with 9 songs and dance pieces by the Diamond Dance Class.
The decoration of the city was mainly done by Dr. Carole Nalletamby.
