The members of the National Assembly yesterday afternoon finished giving their answers and reactions to the merits of the general budget for 2023 that the Minister for Finance, National Planning and Commerce, Naadir Hassan, presented to the National Assembly on November 4.
Minister Hassan, who is present in the National Assembly for the three-day presentation, listened carefully to the answers and reactions of all the members.
But the assembly session that ended just a little before 5 in the afternoon ended on a bad note because after the member elected for Bel Ombre, Sandy Arrissol, finished giving his reaction, there were reactions from certain members in the room who did not on the microphone and the public did not understand what was happening. But what the public heard was the reaction of Speaker Roger Mancienne who was asking a member of the opposition party, Johann Loze, to leave the Assembly immediately because he yelled at him.
Following this session, the Assembly ended and the next session will resume this morning at 9 am with the response of Minister Hassan before continuing with the debate in the committee stage where today three entities – the Seychelles Planning Authority, the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency and also the Ministry of Land and Housing – are expected to defend their budgets .
