Africa-Press – Seychelles. The President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, sent a message of condolences to the King of Morocco, Mohamed VI following the earthquake that occurred in the Marrakech region.
More than 2,000 people have died, according to the latest official report, which is likely to get worse as research continues.
“On behalf of the government and people of Seychelles, as well as on my own behalf, I extend my most sincere condolences and deep sympathies to you, as well as to the Moroccan people, and in particular to those affected and the bereaved families, following the devastating earthquake that hit your country,” said President Ramkalawan.
“We stand together in this time of great pain and loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, as well as those who have been injured or displaced by this disaster,” the message continues.
The Seychelles head of state says he is convinced that the Kingdom of Morocco will overcome this difficult period and rebuild itself stronger than before.
He wished to recall the unwavering support and friendship of Seychelles.
