Africa-Press – Seychelles. ‘I encourage young people to come into this business’ – Mario Charles (Machabée)
“I am a young fisherman and also a boat owner. I started in this business from the age of 16 and my uncles continued after me.
“I was able to get my own boat with the assistance of the National Youth Council (SNYC) and with the help of my older brother, Dyan Charles.
“My brother gave me this encouragement as a young man to push forward, and I continued to push. He encouraged me to make peace.
“At the same time, I make camp and even when it’s summer season, I ask for permission to participate in it. I can say that for a young person I see it as a good experience for the health sector and where my husband is happy to put a point forward, my child is happy more often because according to his understanding it is also 2 years for the license and they do it is mostly in bad weather.
I’m happy that there will be more products, as lockers are starting to become rare, and it is difficult to be able to do this in this area and there is a would steal lockers. Like the seiners, there are not many macro seiners.
“Finally, my little one is happy to be big up and young to be able to play in front of this place. And the Maritime School, as well as my little one, is happy if they put young people on it. They are showing young people how to sew linen, but they are not showing young people how to do this work.
And I am happy to launch a call for young people to pursue this career as well because I have started in this career and I have reached this stage.
“I’m happy to encourage young people from outside to come into this business, do this business and give young people a job.”
