Africa-Press – Seychelles. Ezy D’s Toy Drive held last Saturday to encourage the public to make donations towards children and families in need was seen as a major success, and organisers said the participation of the public was very gratifying, and to this day, some are still willing to donate towards the foundation and its cause.

The event, organised by renowned Dj, Daniel ‘Ezy D’ Vadivello in collaboration with the ‘Make a Child Smile’ foundation and Dareal Thing Recordz, was to encourage people to come forward and donate brand new toys, clothing, food, household items, as well as cash, during an entertainment show that took place at the National Museum late on Saturday evening.

Through a post of social media, Ezy D and his team have thanked everyone who has helped in one way or another by contributing to make this time a little better for those in need, stating that “the joy and happiness you brought to the hearts of those in need is worth more than words can describe”.

In an interview to Seychelles NATION yesterday, Miss Soso, a member of the organising team, disclosed that on the day of the event, they received mostly monetary donations, which was greatly appreciated.

She said this went towards feeding the less fortunate families through Christmas day meals, prepared by Spar, Eden Island and Fishtail Restaurant.

She added that visits to families across the country have given her an insight into the plight of many families and the hardship they face daily, making her more grateful or appreciative of her work and contribution to the community.

Miss Soso said despite delays and other challenges, they are committed to helping those families.

“We are not doing it for the fame but to actually help the families,” she said.

The distribution of gifts started on Mahé on Christmas Eve and since then the organising team has visited many families on both Mahé and Praslin and is expected to visit many more on La Digue and Mahé in the following days.

The team provided its support not only to the less fortunate families but also to those whose children have medical issues. It concluded that it was grateful to all those who donated towards the good cause and for making this event a success.
