Africa-Press – Seychelles. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, there are presently 262 active cases Covid-19 in the country, a figure which reflects a seven- day moving average of around 27 cases per day.
This brings the total number of cumulative cases to 39,991.
Out of the 262 cases, 229 are on Mahé, 16 on Praslin and 17 on La Digue, which indicates that there has not been any remarkable change in the rate of infection in the last three weeks.
The number of recovered cases so far is 39,566, while the number of Covid-19 related deaths, the cumulative total is 163.
Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign continues and everyone who has not is being encouraged to take their primary doses and booster as soon as they are eligible.
The Public Health Authority is urging the public to remain extra vigilant and to strictly adhere to public health measures, including the proper wearing of masks, physical distancing, among others to prevent a surge in new number of cases.
