AFCON U-20: Arsenal Wonderkid, Osman Kamara Joins Shooting Stars in Egypt

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Arsenal wonderkid, Osman Kamara has joined the Sierra Leone U-20 team, Shooting Stars ahead of their opener in the AFCON U-20 on Sunday.

Two other players, Abraham Kanu from Reading and Kevin Bobson Kargbo from RWDM in Belgium have also joined the camp.

The trio arrived at the Shooting Stars camp accompanied by the national team Ambassador, Christian Dauda on Friday evening.

The Shooting Stars, who will play Zambia, is participating in their first-ever U-20 AFCON competition after making it to the WAFU U-20 final last year.

Head coach for the Shooting Stars, Mohamed Lamin Kamara is optimistic about their chances of being successful in the tournament.

“This is our first U-20 AFCON appearance, and we’re here not just to participate, but to

make history,” the coach said during their pre-match press conference on Saturday afternoon.

The Shooting Stars squad is solid with 17 home-based players and 9 foreign-based players.

The U-20 team will face a stiff competition in the group stage where they will face Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa and host, Egypt.
