Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Julius Maada Bio was celebrated in a grand ceremony at the Presidential Lodge, following his recent election as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The event, which was held on Saturday, June 28, drew together Sierra Leoneans from all walks of life, showcasing a strong sense of national pride and unity.

The ceremony featured notable attendees, including representatives from the Speaker of the Liberian Parliament, who honored President Bio with a special award. The recognition reflects the significance of his leadership role within ECOWAS and the importance of regional cooperation.

A letter of congratulations was also presented from the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), further emphasizing the support for President Bio’s election. The letter, delivered on behalf of Africa’s First Ladies, celebrated the historic moment for Sierra Leone and the broader West African region.
