NGC Unveils New Headquarters Ahead of 2028 Elections

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The National Grand Coalition (NGC) officially opened its new national headquarters on Wilkinson Road, marking a pivotal moment in the party’s efforts to revitalize its political presence ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The launch event attracted hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, highlighting a renewed sense of ambition within the party.

Once regarded as politically dormant, the NGC is now positioning itself for a resurgence with the unveiling of its modern facility, which party leaders view as a symbol of revival.

In his address to the crowd, NGC Chairman and Leader, Mr. Mohamed Koroma declared, “With a new, refreshing, and conducive environment now housing our headquarters, the NGC is back and poised to ensure we continue our mission of liberating the people of Sierra Leone.”

The decision to relocate from the former Naimbana Street site to the more central and accessible Wilkinson Road was framed as a strategic move. The new location enhances the party’s visibility and reflects its desire to engage more effectively with the public.

National Secretary General Mr. Amadu Sheriff reinforced this message, encouraging members to consider the new headquarters as their political home. “This is your office. This new office is your political home. Feel free to always come here and feel at home,” he stated.

The atmosphere during the launch was filled with optimism and excitement. Longtime supporter, Tent Jabbie, described the occasion as a defining moment for the NGC, stating, “This is a great day for our party. We have gone dormant for some time and people thought the NGC was dead. But no, we are not. This is proof that we mean business. The NGC is here to stay.” She expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and its potential to compete seriously in the upcoming elections.

In preparation for the relaunch, the NGC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) convened to adopt critical resolutions aimed at strengthening the party’s organizational structure.

Those decisions included filling vacant executive positions in various districts to rebuild local support networks, dissolving the party’s United Kingdom & Ireland and North America executive bodies with plans for interim leadership teams, and initiating lower-level elections nationwide to invigorate grassroots involvement.

Party insiders viewed those actions as part of a broader strategy to restore the NGC’s credibility and operational effectiveness. Leadership emphasized that the initiative is not merely cosmetic but represents a long-term commitment to transforming the NGC into a viable political contender.
