Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. East End Lions Football Club has issued a strong condemnation of Leone Stars National Team Coach, Mohamed Kallon, for allegedly engaging in unethical and unprofessional conduct. Reports indicate that Kallon approached two players from East End Lions for an unauthorised trip to Nigeria, misrepresenting the journey as an opportunity to play for FC Kallon, before later claiming it was for a home-based Leone Stars team.
The club has stated that it has received no official communication or invitation from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) regarding this matter and emphasized that the trip does not coincide with an international match window. Even if it did, East End Lions asserts it is under no obligation to release its players.
In response, the club has formally lodged a complaint with the SLFA, with copies sent to the Premier League Board, CAF, and FIFA. The club also plans to notify the tournament organizers in Nigeria, adding that any player who participates in the trip without the club’s consent will face disciplinary action.
East End Lions, currently competing fiercely for the Sierra Leone Premier League title, expressed deep concern over Kallon’s alleged misuse of his position to entice players with promises of national team selection in exchange for transfers to FC Kallon. This conduct, according to the club, undermines the integrity of football.
The club has called for an immediate investigation by the SLFA into these serious allegations, demanding swift action to uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and professionalism in Sierra Leonean football.
