YACAP and YLA Sign MoU for Youth Leadership Summit

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Youth and Children Advocacy Panel (YACAP) and the Youth Leadership Advocacy (YLA) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly organize and implement the 8th National Youth Leadership Summit, scheduled for November 27–30, 2025, at the Sierra Leone House of Parliament in Freetown.

The National Youth Leadership Summit, which is held annually, has impacted over 5,000 young people since its inception in 2018. The event has become a powerful catalyst for youth-driven policy advocacy and increased representation in national decision-making spaces.

This year’s theme, “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership,” reflects the summit’s renewed emphasis on collaborative innovation and global youth engagement.

The newly signed MOU marks a significant step forward, aiming to expand outreach, foster unified petitioning on urgent youth issues, and strengthen coordination for effective summit delivery.

YLA has long served as a leading voice for young people across Sierra Leone, advocating for policy reforms and inclusive development. Together with YACAP—renowned for its strategic grassroots mobilization this partnership signals a new era of youth-led progress powered by unity and purpose.

The collaboration between YACAP and YLA underscores the transformative potential of partnerships among youth-serving organizations: By leveraging collective strengths, both parties aspire to shape actionable solutions and amplify youth perspectives at all levels of governance.

Finally, the summit promises to bring together youth leaders, policymakers, technology experts, and development partners in a forum designed to champion multilateral cooperation and forward-thinking strategies for national development.
