Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Bai Mahmoud Bangura, former Youth Minister and current National Organizing Secretary of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party, has resigned from his position.
The resignation was effective immediately, according to a letter dated July 25, 2025.
In his letter addressed to Comrade Lansana Dumbuya Esq., National Secretary General and for the attention of the National Advisory Committee (NAC) and the APC Party Membership, Bangura stated, “I refer to the above and hereby resign as the National Organising Secretary of the All Peoples Congress, pursuant to Article 56 (d) of the APC Constitution 2022, with immediate effect.”
Bangura expressed gratitude for his time in the role, writing, “I sincerely thank and appreciate the leadership and the entire membership of the party for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I remain grateful and hopeful.”
Although a reason was not given for the resignation, Bangura is believed to be resigning to focus on his bid for the 2028 Presidential flagbearer of the party.
The letter was carbon-copied to key party officials, including the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman, National Legal Adviser, and Deputy National Organising Secretary.
