Afrimoney Partners with NaCSA for Safe Cash Transfers to Elderly People Across Sierra Leone

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Afrimoney, a mobile money service provider in Sierra Leone, has joined forces with the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) to enhance cash transfers for over 11,600 elderly beneficiaries across the country.

The initiative, as part of the World Bank-funded social safety-net program, aims to ensure timely and secured financial support for the elderly people across the country.

The agreement was formalized during a review meeting held at the Freetown City Council on Tuesday, 15th April, 2025. Attended by officials from the World Bank, NaCSA, and Afrimoney, the signing ceremony was marked by enthusiastic applause from the representatives present.

NaCSA Commissioner, Chief Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “We are here to work with Afrimoney to ensure we give our people the services they deserve. We believe this platform will comfortably transfer funds to our people.”

He also commended Afrimoney for offering competitive rates, noting, “We are also impressed that the rates we have from Afrimoney are better than what we had from other organizations.”

The CEO of Afrimoney, Martison Obeng-Agyei, shared his commitment to integrating financial objectives with public welfare, expressing hope that the agreement marks the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration with NaCSA. He assured all stakeholders of Afrimoney’s dedication to the project’s implementation and accountability.

The formal signing took place between Afrimoney’s CEO, Shadi-Al Gerjawi, and NaCSA Commissioner, with the Deputy Commissioner, Jimmy Batilo Songa, also in attendance.

The partnership is believed to have reinforces Afrimoney’s mission to prioritize the welfare of vulnerable groups while fulfilling important social goals outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.
