Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. In the early hours of Monday, 21st April, 2025, a devastating fire destroyed homes of multiple rooms to ashes at Tankoro, Kono District.
As confirmed by an eyewitness, Benjamin Kellie, the disastrous incident sparked while the residents were comfortably sleeping in their rooms, confirming that they immediately evacuated the building when they noticed the fire.
As at then, according to Benjamin, no fire fighter responded at the scene, which left the community people battling to quench the blazing fire.
Benjamin further confirmed that the properties of the victims were also burnt to ashes, signifying the severity of the fire.
However, the available reports have not confirmed any casualty of death or injuries. The community members have called on the swift response from the disaster management to address the situation.
