Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, a presidential aspirant for Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), has publicly dismissed claims linking his political ambition to former President Ernest Bai Koroma.

In a recent statement, Dr. Bangura made it clear that his decision to run for the presidency is entirely independent and not influenced by the former APC leader.

He emphasized that while he respects the legacy of past leaders, his campaign is driven by a new vision aimed at addressing the current needs of Sierra Leoneans.

The denial comes amid growing speculation on social media and within political circles suggesting that Ernest Bai Koroma may be backing Bangura behind the scenes.

However, Dr. Bangura insists his agenda is self-motivated and rooted in reform and progress for the country.
