Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. On April 25th, 2025, Honourable Ing. Elder Daniel Fornah officially launched the construction of three solid bridges in Makawao Bana, Masakong Chiefdom, located in the northern part of Tonkolili District.
In his keynote address, Honourable Fornah first expressed deep gratitude to the people of Makawao Bana for electing him as their Member of Parliament. He highlighted some major development projects he has successfully achieved within just two years in office. Honourable Fornah also emphasized his advocacy for a ferry service to link the chiefdom to other areas, improving transportation and economic activity.
He ended the landmark launching ceremony with the presentation of 150 bags of cement, two cartons of nails, one-ton iron rods, and other building materials worth millions of tonnes.
The launching ceremony featured notable contributions from community leaders: Pa Alpha Jalloh, Village Headman of Makawao Bana, spoke about the many broken promises made by past MPs and ministers during campaigns.
He warmly welcomed Honourable Fornah and his entourage. Section Chief Pa Amadu fully embraced the bridges project, highlighting its significance for the development of the entire section.
Regentchieff of Masakong Chiefdom, Pa Robert Conteh, welcomed the two visiting Members of Parliament. He extended special thanks and appreciation to Honourable Fornah, commending him for his tangible efforts. Pa Robert raised concerns about the poor network coverage in the chiefdom and called on Honourable Fornah to advocate for the extension of network services.
He also reiterated the importance of establishing a ferry link between Masakong and Yele. Chairlady Yatu Conteh of Makawao Village praised the initiative and passionately appealed to Honourable Fornah to prioritize women’s empowerment, particularly in the field of agriculture.
Constituency Secretary for Constituency 052, who also served as a former councillor (commonly referred to as “Councilor Disappear”), spoke on behalf of the constituency, applauding Honourable Fornah’s dedication and commitment to development.
