Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. A group of like-minded young people from Makeni City, Northern Sierra Leone have established a Charity organization aimed at redeeming suffering families from the shackles of poverty.

The Charity organization is called Building Opportunity and Motivate Individuals (BOMI), and it was established in 2021.

Since its inception, the organization has been engaging in a plethora of developmental activities aimed at helping poor and less privileged individuals.Very recently, the organization’s first President, Sulaiman Frederico Tholley, said that they had supported several households in Mathinkineh, a small and remote community near Makeni with food and cooking condiments. Before engaging in that project, the President said, the organization conducted a survey in the community to track and identify those who are in dire need of the items, and the community stakeholders, he said were involved.Very soon, Tholley said, the organization will be implementing another project called Back to School to help school-going children in some communities around the Northern province.

“As young people, it’s time we begin to take a leadership role, especially in giving economic growth and freedom to humanity and people around us,” the President said.

Most of the founders of the organization are workers, but Tholley said, they believe they have a responsibility to serve others with sincerity and love from the bottom of their hearts

The organization, he said, is currently registered with various institutions including the Makeni City Council, and Bombali District Council, among others.

Transparency and accountability for the economic growth of others, the president said, is the vision of the organization.

“We’re focusing on building a foundation of financial freedom,” he added.

For the organization to continue its goodwill gesture, the organization is also engaged in agriculture. In Yoni village, some kilometers off Makeni, the President said, BOMI cultivated one and a half acres of ground nut.

All that they’re doing currently in serving humanity, he said, is from personal contributions coming from the membership at home and abroad.

The organization is calling on humanitarians, the government, and individuals to come to their aid.
