Businessman Malador Granted Bail in $30,000 Fraud Case

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Magistrate Adama Judith Kandeh of Pademba Road Court No. 4 has granted bail to businessman Marwan Malador, manager of Malador Company Limited, who is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy to defraud and fraudulent conversion.

Prosecutors allege that on August 26, 2024, Malador conspired with unknown persons to defraud Roseline Fatu Cowan of $30,000 (approximately Le729,000). The funds were reportedly entrusted to him to facilitate travel arrangements to the United States.

When the charges were read in court, Malador did not enter a plea. Magistrate Kandeh granted him bail set at Le357,000 with two sureties, both of whom must be Freetown residents and present valid identification. The bail terms remain subject to approval by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.

The matter, which is being prosecuted under Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, has been adjourned to September 30, 2025. The complainant is represented by lawyer Ibrahim S.Y. Kamara, Esq.
