Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Towards in development aimed at fostering national unity and strengthening democratic institutions, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh recently held a dialogue meeting with prominent members of the All People’s Congress (APC) party.

Dr. Sengeh was joined by Dr. Gaima, while the APC delegation included Dr. Samura Kamara, leader of the party and former presidential candidate, and Dr. Marrah, a key member of the APC.

The meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, focused on critical issues pertaining to national governance and electoral reforms. As Chief Negotiators of the signed Agreement for National Unity, Dr. Sengeh and Dr. Kamara engaged in constructive discussions aimed at addressing systemic inefficiencies of the past and enhancing the effectiveness of state institutions.

Following the dialogue, Dr. David Sengeh emphasized the importance of such engagements, stating, “It is always a pleasure to talk to the Leader of APC Dr. Samura Kamara.” He further highlighted the significance of the discussions, indicating that both parties received technical updates from the co-chairs of the Electoral Management Bodies Review Committee, Dr. Marrah, and Dr. Gaima.

Dr. Sengeh reiterated the commitment of both himself and Dr. Kamara to ensuring a vibrant and inclusive democratic future for the country. Recognizing the pivotal role of effective governance and electoral processes in nation-building, he underscored the need for collaborative efforts in correcting past shortcomings and bolstering the integrity of state institutions.
