Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Clerk of the Parliament of Sierra Leone, Karmoh Conteh, has met with his Ghanaian counterpart, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, as part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary administration and share best practices.

The meeting took place on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Accra, Ghana.

Discussions between the two Clerks focused on how parliamentary service boards function, their role in the budgeting process, and allocations made to Parliament. They also exchanged views on the activities of the Society of Clerks-at-the-Table (SoCATT) and the growing importance of digitalization in modern parliaments.

Both parties agreed on the need to enhance information and communication technology systems to improve parliamentary operations and service delivery.

The engagement ended with a guided tour of the Parliament of Ghana, where Mr. Conteh was briefed on the institution’s structure and workflow.

Through the office of the Ghanaian Clerk, Mr. Conteh also held talks with Tomer Novotny, Director of Business Development at Super Tech Limited, a Ghana-based Israeli company currently leading a digital project for the Parliament of Ghana. Mr. Novotny shared insights on the initiative, outlining both the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in parliamentary systems.

Mr. Conteh described the discussions as useful and said they provided valuable lessons for the Sierra Leone Parliament’s ongoing modernization efforts.

Since assuming office, the new Clerk has been actively engaging regional and international partners. He was recently elected First Vice President of the Association of Clerks and Secretaries General of African Parliaments, an organization that promotes collaboration and professional development among parliamentary administrators across the continent.
