Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Correctional Center Female Cricket Club has been crowned Champions of the 2023 Sierra Leone Women T20 Premier League. Correctional Center defeats Mid West to win the final that took place at the Prince of Wales Oval on Saturday.
The Arena was filled to the brim as many spectators shift on edges to witness the historic event. As the sun bright in the horizon, Mid-West won the toss and chose to field, a tact that proved costly when the Prison Officers posted 154 runs for five wickets in 20 overs, beginning with sensational 15-run strike in the first over.
The climax of the T20 Cricket league is part of Cricket Sierra Leone’s 2023 domestic league calendar, an effort to make cricket a way of life for young women and girls, and make it more inclusive, for the development of the sports in Sierra Leone.
