Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Bio has called on Stakeholders to support her husbands imitative, the “Livestock and Livelihoods Development project” that was held in Kambia on Friday 31st, October, 2025.
The launching was held under the global World Food Day theme: “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.” On her officially Facebook page, she said, ” my husband, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, and I had the honor of launching the Livestock and Livelihoods Development Project (LLDP) and commemorating World Food Day in Kambia District.”
She further, highlight that the event showcases their resilience and commitment to making the Feed Salone initiative a reality.” The display of locally grown agricultural products was truly impressive.” she said.
During the ceremony, President Bio launched the Two-Year Feed Salone Progress Report, commending farmers, paramount chiefs, and development partners for their shared commitment to Sierra Leone’s journey toward food self-sufficiency.
President Bio described agriculture as “the heartbeat of our nation,” emphasizing that the Feed Salone program is transforming farming “from subsistence to prosperity, making it a source of dignity, innovation, and wealth creation.”
In concluding, first lady call on all Stakeholders to support the Livestock and Livelihoods Development Project (LLDP).
“I urge all Sierra Leoneans, both at home and abroad, to embrace and support this initiative. Let us grow our own food, consume what we produce, and export the surplus. My husband remains steadfast to ensuring our nation’s food security and self-sufficiency.”
