Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Yvonne Aki Sawyerr, the Mayor of Freetown, has paid tribute to Sia Fatu Kamara on the one-year anniversary of her passing.

“I woke up crying this morning. One year ago today, we lost our beloved Sia. Her life was brutally taken, but she will remain in our hearts forever. We miss you, Sia. Rest in peace, my little star. #Justice4Sia,” the mayor wrote on her Facebook page.

Before her tragic demise, Sia Fatu Kamara was a promising young Communications Executive at the Freetown City Council. Her life was cut tragically short, his boyfriend Abdul Kpaka allegedly inflicted fatal injuries on her, leading to her demise. Post mortem result suggests that Sia had broken ribs and a damaged spinal cord.

Sia’s tragic death has drawn widespread public interest, with many following closely as the case unfolds in court.

Abdul Kpaka, accused of killing his girlfriend Sia Fatu Kamara, is currently in remand after has was charged with two counts: murder and perverting the course of justice.

The prosecution alleges that Sia Kamara died under suspicious circumstances on August 13, 2024, shortly after spending the night with Kpaka.
