Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. During the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MOICE) weekly press briefing, Minister Chernor Bah addressed concerns surrounding the potential shutdown of Karpowership due to payment disputes.
He stated, “Since the increase in electricity tariffs in 2023, the government has been consistent in the payment of the $50 million arrears. The government has already paid the first installment of $12 million to Karpowership.”
Minister Bah refuted the news circulating about Karpowership threatening to shut down, asserting that the information is not true.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to meeting its financial obligations and ensuring the continuous supply of electricity to the nation
