Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that young forward Ishmael Kabia has joined English League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan deal.
Kabia, who recently signed his first professional contract with the Gunners earlier in August, will spend the 2025/26 season gaining valuable first-team experience to aid his development.
Born in the Netherlands to Sierra Leonean parents, the right winger has been part of Arsenal’s academy since 2022, when he signed a scholarship with the club. His progress through the youth ranks earned him a professional contract, marking him as one of the promising talents in Arsenal’s setup.
The 18-year-old is also eligible to represent Sierra Leone internationally, a prospect that adds to the growing list of young diaspora players with potential to strengthen the Leone Stars in the future.
Kabia’s loan to Shrewsbury Town is expected to provide him with more playing opportunities at senior level, as Arsenal continues to nurture his growth for future contributions at the top level.
