Leone Stars Forward Mustapha Bundu Secures Plymouth Argyle Goal of The Season

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leonean striker Mustapha Bundu has been awarded the prestigious title of Goal of the Season for his outstanding performance in the 2024/25 season for Plymouth Argyle.

His breathtaking free-kick against Derby County at Home Park has been recognized as Goal of the Season.

Bundu’s goal triumphed in a competitive ten-way poll, surpassing Andre Gray’s impressive double against Watford, which secured a tie for second and third place among the voters.

With Argyle trailing 2-0 in the first half, Ryan Hardie earned a free-kick from a challenging position approximately 20 yards out and at a tight angle. Rather than opting for a conventional cross, Bundu executed a stunning shot, curling the ball with remarkable precision into the far corner of the net. This spectacular strike not only electrified the crowd but also reignited Argyle’s hopes in the match.

The 28-year-old forward has been in exceptional form as the season drew to a close under head coach Miron Muslic, netting six goals in his last ten appearances. Additionally, he contributed to Argyle’s efforts in their 2-1 defeat to Leeds on the final day of the season by providing an assist.

Since joining the club from Anderlecht in September 2023, Bundu has made a significant impact, scoring 14 goals in 70 appearances. His contributions have been vital to Argyle’s success this season, and his talent continues to shine on the pitch.
