Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Minister of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, had a closed door meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt on June 17, 2025, in his office at the Youyi Building.
The primary focus of the crucial meeting was the government’s ambitious plan to construct a bridge linking Freetown to Lungi.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of American private sector investors, highlighting potential collaboration on key infrastructure projects in Sierra Leone.
The infrastructure project aims to significantly enhance transportation and connectivity between the capital city and Lungi International Airport, which is expected to spur economic growth and development in the region.
A spokesperson from the Ministry described the meeting as “very productive,” expressing optimism about the prospects for collaboration.
“The details of the discussions, including specific investment proposals and potential timelines, will be released in due course,” the spokesperson added.
The Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning has emphasized its commitment to transparency and will keep the public informed as new developments arise regarding the project.
