Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Lunsar Cycling Team has returned home to Sierra Leone after a successful performance at the 2025 Ride Afrique Competition held in Accra Sports Stadium Circuit, Ghana.
Among a strong field of over 20 professional cyclists from 10 different countries, the Cycling Team secured impressive third and fourth place finishes.
Upon their arrival at Freetown International Airport in Lungi, the team members were warmly embraced with honorary greetings from Abdul Karim Kamara, the CEO of the Lunsar Cycling Team, who sponsored the entire journey.
Ibrahim Jalloh claimed third place in the competition, closely followed by his teammate, Moses Kamara, who took fourth place.
The event, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium Circuit, aimed to promote the culture of cycling across Africa, showcasing exceptional talent from various cycling teams throughout the continent.
The Lunsar Cycling Team, based in the northern town of Lunsar in Port Loko District, is recognized as Sierra Leone’s largest cycling club. Founded in 2015, the team has grown to include over 30 riders from diverse regions of the country.
They are well-known not only for their participation in international competitions but also for organizing Sierra Leone’s most prestigious cycling event, the Tour de Lunsar.
Looking ahead, the Lunsar Cycling Team is now preparing for the 11th edition of the Tour de Lunsar, scheduled for April 24-26, 2025.
