Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation has partnered with Kamara Yokie Innovation to further efforts in artificial intelligence, digital skills, and technological innovation in Sierra Leone.

As part of this collaboration, Ministry officials recently met with the Kamara Yokie Innovation Center to review ongoing activities in robotics and STEM education and to discuss upcoming programmes aimed at students across the country.

During the engagement, the team outlined plans to host the National Robotics for Good Competition in March 2026. The event will bring together students to develop robotics-based solutions addressing real-world challenges, with the winning team expected to represent Sierra Leone at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva

The discussions also emphasized how the competition aligns with the Ministry’s broader agenda to expand AI awareness, digital skills, and early exposure to emerging technologies, particularly among children and young people. The Minister highlighted the importance of coordination and alignment with national priorities as these programs move toward implementation.

The meeting forms part of ongoing stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening collaboration and information-sharing within Sierra Leone’s growing technology and innovation ecosystem.
